The Amazing Spider-Man – Movie Review

still from the movie Amazing Spider-Man

Just saw The Amazing Spider-Man. Much better than the previous series. I liked it a lot

Some of this was no doubt seeing it in IMAX 3D — the swinging amongst the buildings was spectacular — but I thought everything overall was much better.

Problems I had?

To a degree, the establishment of Peter Parker & Gwen Stacy as a super geniuses — Peter understands genetics as well as and maybe better than Curt Connors, a man who has been doing the work for at least 20 years longer. And Peter is only second in science in his school. Gwen is first.

In the comics, Peter does have a knack for science but it always seemed to be something the writers forgot about for years at a time. So how integral was it to the mythos?

And the Lizard was a little awkwardly done but serviceable.

But really, if you’re going to spend the the money, see it in IMAX 3D. Spidey somersaulting between the buildings is awesome.
